Power supply atx connector do not fit motherboard

I cannot get the 6 atx connector cable into the motherboard. Only the top 4 go in and not the bottom 2. I tried putting it in at all directions. I tried both sets of cables but they don't look like they will fit at all. I have this motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P

There is no 6 pin ATX connection. There's an 8 pin (which is the one you want), and a 24 pin connection.

Sorry I meant the 8 pin connection.

 

The top 6 will go into the motherboard. The bottom two will not go in. I tried in both directions.

Wrong cable. That's a PCI-E connector. The afforementioned connector, the EPS connector, splits into two 2x2 connections.

 

Do NOT use the PCI-E 6+2 pin connector:
