denzigi
i just installed 2 of the extreme series 32gb drives in raid 0 on my machine. when i do my check the benchmarks the numbers i'm getting back are not what i expected 227 read and 197 write were the best i came up with. i read somewhere that my motherboard sata is limited to 300mb/s so i think that i should be able to max that out with what i've bought. any suggestions
Yellowbeard
You may not be able to max it out if you are benching it as the OS drive. What utility are you testing with?
denzigi
i checked it with crystal mark and atto both produced similar numbers and my os is on this drive
liquidfusionv
looks like me, you and Princy on the forums with similar setup are all having the same problems.... :(:
NfiniteZERO
SATA II maxes out at about 260MB/s once you account for protocol headroom, but that's a theoretical maximum at any rate. Once you factor in differences in chipsets, drives, and OS drivers those numbers may trail off quite a bit. Denzigi, do you have the drives set up to use 32k allocation units? Fire up chkdsk in the command prompt if you're not sure.
