Eyghon
Hi all, I'm in the process of buying my new system which will be a i7 870 on a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD5, I'm going to be using a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 Dual Fan Quiet CPU Cooler or similar although I have considered the H50 too. I need to find RAM without the tall heat sink and have a budget of around £120 per 4GB, can someone point me to models that fit the bill? Eyghon
Hi Wired, Been there already but it doesn't say whether they have tall heat sinks that may interfere with CPU Cooler installation.
Wired
Combine the memory with this part number breakdown FAQ: http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80808 In short, C / X heat spreaders don't raise above the module unlike the D, G, and GS. Confusing, I know. Can't say I like the new part numbers.
Eyghon
Ok thanks again mate. Out of interest, I believe the top heatspreader on something like the CMG4GX3M2A2000C8 can be removed, would this have any real adverse effects?, the case is a HAF932 so plenty of cooling. l8r
