htgc1
My PC currently has 2 GB of memory installed – That is Corsair Product # TWIN2X2048-6400 I want to install additional memory in order to efficiently run the Windows 7 OS. The Corsair website states that Product # TWIN2X4096-6400C5 (4 GB kit) will work in my PC . My motherboard has 4 memory slots. Can I add the above 4-GB-kit to the 2-GB-kit that is presently installed and thereby get 6-GB of memory? If the answer to the previous question is “No”, then I assume that should I install two Corsair # TWIN2X4096-6400C5 Kits for a total of 8 GB of memory? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 24, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 24, 2009 I would not suggest mixing memory with any system, but you are welcome to try what ever you like, but if you do install 4 modules using two different sets I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 at 2.0 Volts and increase the NB/MCH Voltage +.2 Volts as well.
