torns
I need 12 GB of RAM and I thought this will be my choice CMG6GX3M3A1866C7, but this is 3x2 GB. I have mbo asus p6t deluxe v2, and I was wondering what is better to get 6 modules 6x2 GB or to have 3x4 GB ? But I like this CMG6GX3M3A1866C7 memory because has good speed and latency. What is best to do?
Yellowbeard
There are no 3 x 4GB kits available at this time. Technically, you should not buy seperate kits and mix them as they have not been tested and validated together although they will most likely work. However, keep in mind that if you move to 6 modules, you very likely will be forced to lower your overclock due to the load on the memory controller. You'll need to add the exact memory that you have for best results.
Wired
Exact means same part # / same version # so to ensure the ICs are the same. Best to stick with one 12 GB kit.
instuller
Exact means same part # / same version # so to ensure the ICs are the same. . I have that (2 kits with ALL the numbers the same) and still have problems , even underclocked according to their spec. But I will try bumping down the overclock a little at a time. Im memtest stable, but windows loading hangs.

Can you post your own thread and detail what your issues are and list your BIOS settings you have made for RAM, CPU, and voltages.
