Wired
Assuming it says 2.99 GB usable, it's because you are using a 32 bit OS and the other GB is either reserved within the OS and/or within the BIOS for other functions.
Mlewis38
Well then how do i make it say 3.5gb usable then?
Yellowbeard
Well then how do i make it say 3.5gb usable then? Due to the memory addressing of 32bit XP, you probably won't be able to get any more system memory usable. You'll need to go to a 64bit OS to use all of your system memory. Mlewis38
yeah it is a 32 bit, but usually it says 3.25 used. going thru bios there is 1 gb of reserved ram also..eheheh
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 14, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 14, 2009 How much memory is on your Video Card and how much cache in in your CPU? Subtract that from 3.7 Gig and that is what will be available
