Skafloc
I am in the midst of building a new PC. I added all the bits I had but the PC failed to boot - no beeps but fans, MB lights, DVD and HD drive all show activity. So I am in the process of trying to identify the problem. I wanted to make sure the PSU was working so I bought a psu tester - have to admit as I was to chicken to try the paper clip test. Anyways the fan works and all if the LEDS in the tester light up bar the -5V one. +3.3V, -12V, PG,+5VSB, +12V and +5V all light up -5V no light Is this normal? I now have to test my RAM, CPU and MB:(:
Wired
There hasn't been a -5v line in the ATX spec in over 5 years. It's normal.
