P256user
bought two P256 in last two weeks for two laptops under win 7 x64 ultimate. one is ok so far with HP G60, the other with Dell vostro 1400 suffers a few time freezing (no response for any keystroke range from seconds to over one minute, hard drive LED keeps flashing during freezing, after that it turn back to normal, no BSOD). the windows system log shows the same error message like the following(i list four events here): The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period. + System - Provider [ Name] iaStor - EventID 9 [ Qualifiers] 49156 Level 2 Task 0 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2009-11-04T22:58:04.391950200Z EventRecordID 13334 Channel System Computer xxxxxx Security - EventData \Device\Ide\iaStor0 0F0005000100000000000000090004C00100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Binary data: In Words 0000: 0005000F 00000001 00000000 C0040009 0008: 00000001 00000000 00000000 00000000 0010: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00 In Bytes 0000: 0F 00 05 00 01 00 00 00 ........ 0008: 00 00 00 00 09 00 04 C0 .......À 0010: 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0028: 00 00 00 00 00 ..... + System - Provider [ Name] iaStor - EventID 9 [ Qualifiers] 49156 Level 2 Task 0 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2009-10-31T01:32:19.222315100Z EventRecordID 7028 Channel System Computer xxxxxx Security - EventData \Device\Ide\iaStor0 0F0005000100000000000000090004C00100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Binary data: In Words 0000: 0005000F 00000001 00000000 C0040009 0008: 00000001 00000000 00000000 00000000 0010: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00 In Bytes 0000: 0F 00 05 00 01 00 00 00 ........ 0008: 00 00 00 00 09 00 04 C0 .......À 0010: 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0028: 00 00 00 00 00 ..... + System - Provider [ Name] iaStor - EventID 9 [ Qualifiers] 49156 Level 2 Task 0 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2009-10-31T01:32:19.222315100Z EventRecordID 7028 Channel System Computer xxxxxx Security - EventData \Device\Ide\iaStor0 0F0005000100000000000000090004C00100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Binary data: In Words 0000: 0005000F 00000001 00000000 C0040009 0008: 00000001 00000000 00000000 00000000 0010: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00 In Bytes 0000: 0F 00 05 00 01 00 00 00 ........ 0008: 00 00 00 00 09 00 04 C0 .......À 0010: 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0028: 00 00 00 00 00 ..... + System - Provider [ Name] iaStor - EventID 9 [ Qualifiers] 49156 Level 2 Task 0 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2009-10-27T00:46:54.758618600Z EventRecordID 1378 Channel System Computer xxxxxx Security - EventData \Device\Ide\iaStor0 0F0005000100000000000000090004C00100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Binary data: In Words 0000: 0005000F 00000001 00000000 C0040009 0008: 00000001 00000000 00000000 00000000 0010: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00 In Bytes 0000: 0F 00 05 00 01 00 00 00 ........ 0008: 00 00 00 00 09 00 04 C0 .......À 0010: 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0028: 00 00 00 00 00 ..... both machine are using Intel driver 8.9.1023. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 6, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 6, 2009 If you can to test I would image the drive that is working to another HDD and then re-image that image to the suspect HDD and test it in the working system to be sure. if its the drive the problem will fallow the drive. And if so I would suggest we get it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it.
P256user
i changed registry on iaStor/Parameters/port0/LPM from 1 to 0, and seems ok so far. after google the error code, i found this was a known issue for ICH8 in vista and some one has found the cure by tweaking this registry. if i still have this issue later, i would consider to apply for replacement. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 6, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 6, 2009 I would strongly suggest what I posted previously as it would suggest that replacing the drive is not the solution.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 6, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 6, 2009 I would suggest Accronics Drive image its easy to use and they offer a free trial.
