dahools
Hi I purchased a pack of 4 memory modules in July 08 of the above part number and I believe two of them to be faulty, Last week my machine crashed (blue screen) and then refused to boot and after some diagnosis i have found that my machine will not boot with 2 of the memory modules, all were tested singley in all slots and my machine fails to load with 2 out of the 4. They have been working fine since fitted to the motherboard and have just stopped last week. On the tech support express site it says the only option is that they were purchased as a pair where as mine came as a four with the clip on fan. Do I need to return just the 2 faulty modules or all 4. I would rather return all four for fresh as I believe they are matched but I'm sure you will know if they are or not. Many thanks Iain P.s I am UK based and noticed noticed the returns adress is America, is there a nearer base to here or do all returns go to the same place? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 3, 2009 Did you purchase them as Quad2X4096-8500C5DF, if yes then that is the part number you would use and you would need to get them all replaced. And once you submit the RMA the system will choose an address closest to your location for you to send the RMA to and we have an office in Netherlands and where they will most likely have you send them to. dahools
thankyou for you input they have contacted me however have offered me the choice of a replacement product as mine is now obsolete. Potential/Alternate Replacement: (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF) or (TWIN2X2048-8500C5DF and TWIN2X2048-8500C5D) could you help decide which would be best for me, are they all the same with different part numbers or are these parts different. Is the first one 2 sticks of 2 Gb each? If so I may go with that. Thanks again Iain
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2009 Yes I would go with TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF as long as your MB supports 2.0 Gig modules.
