Polyknikes
Hey everyone, I fried my motherboard during an unfortunate water cooling accident and I've ordered a new DFI LANPARTY UT P45-T3RS mobo to replace my 680i. I need to upgrade my memory to DDR3, and I'm going for 4GB dual channel as I will upgrade to windows 7 64-bit edition. My motherboard supports up to 1600/1800OC but I wouldn't mind having a little headroom to attempt further overclocking. I'm using an X6800 core 2 extreme previously overclocked to 3.85 ghz. My first choice would be: CMG4GX3M2A1600C6 with their low latency and perfect bandwidth for my mobo My second choice would be: CMG4GX3M2A2000C8 for the great timings and bandwidth but I'm not sure they are compatible with my system, or they might be overkill My fall back would be: CMD4GX3M2A1600C8, they are supposed to work with my motherboard according to the memory selector, they have good timings, but they aren't tested to run at the speeds my motherboard can handle (1800mhz OC), especially if I want to push them even further. Price is not really an issue here, but having said that I don't like wasting money on bandwidth I won't benefit from. I mostly use my computer for gaming, but also for some high definition video editing. Thanks for any help, I'm going to try to get this ordered ASAP since my mobo is arriving any day now.
