2 kits of TR3X6G1600C8D on Asus P6T Deluxe v2

I posted about a month ago a question about the LGA1156 and some Corsair parts.

I've changed my mind and will be building two rigs with the ASUS P6T Deluxe version 2 board and 12 GBs Corsair RAM.

I'll be getting two TR3X6G1600C8D for each box, but this sticky http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=82274 made me a little worried.

I am not going to overclock. I just want performance and stability.

I remember that with the ASUS P5B-E Plus, if you populated the 4 RAM slots you had to set the memory at DDR667 and eventually disable legacy USB in BIOS.

Is there anything I should be aware of when populationg the 6 memory slots for a total of 12 GBs on this board?

Many thanks

Martin

It's recommended to get ONE 12 GB kit instead of TWO 6 GB kits as the former is guaranteed and tested as such whereas the latter isn't tested in a 12 GB configuration.

Yeah. I am interested in this 12 GB Dominator kit listed on Newegg's website with an ETA of 11/02/09:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145271.

How come I can't find this product on Corsair's website?

Thanks, Wired

It's recommended to get ONE 12 GB kit instead of TWO 6 GB kits...

I've found these two kits:

  • HX3X12G1600C9 which is listed in the Corsair mem. configurator and
  • CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 which is not.

I'm gessing the C8 part would be better - comes with a fan too - but will this modules be compatible?

Many thanks

Martin
