CMPSU-550VX compatible with new mainboard?

Hey,

I just picked up an extra desktop for light gaming (kids). I want to confirm that the 550VX psu is compatible with the mainboard.

•Motherboard manufacturer's name: Asus IPIBL-LB

•HP/Compaq name: Benicia-GL8E

It has a 24 pin ATX connector, but it also has a 4 pin ATX connector. I'm confused by the additional 4 pin. I want to make sure before I proceed.

Thank,

James

The 8-pin connector on the VX550 will split into 2x 4-pin connectors, you can use either of those 4-pins for the connector on the board. OEM systems often use proprietary or outdated ATX specifications, so we could not guarantee that the PSU is compatible with your system. As long as the system is compatible with a standard off the shelf ATX12v 2.01 or newer spec PSU then you should not have any problems.
