Vikefan61
I am building a second system for the kids (same MoBo) and figured I'd double my memory. I checked compatibility on NewEgg and ordered the new RAM. When placed in 2 slots, I get system beeps for memory error. When placed in 1 slot, it works fine. I have manually adjusted the voltage to 1.8 and to 2.2 as I've found here at tech support, to no avail. Asus basically said to do this, manually adjust the RAM voltages with 1 stick in then add the second. No matter what I do, it won't work. The last person I spoke to at Asus said it was the MoBo, and wanted to RMA it. I told him I'd wait to see if the 2 gig sticks worked in the new build before I'd do that, as I couldn't imagine 2 boards being bad in the same manner? ANY help would be appreciated!! Wired
Should work just fine in that setup. If either stick works fine in the same slot, test the other slot to be safe, but yeah, sounds like mobo or memory controller.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 27, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 27, 2009 I would agree and if it happens with two MB's it may be the CPU has some problem. Or the MB may be shorting our where it is mounted in the case.
