jimbogustard
Hi, I have an asus striker extreme mobo and have just bought 8Gbs of the above to upgrade it, as running servers etc for my work was causing out of mem probs. When I add 3 sticks (6GB) the system works fine, when I add the last one (have varied the sticks and slots combination) I get bios errors of cant see keyboard/ boot disks when starting. I have a 700w cool master power supply and have upt the mem voltage via the bios mnger to 1.925. (mem needs 1.8v) To me this would seem like a power problem. Anyone got any ideas? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.0 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
jimbogustard
Thanks, the voltage changes caused boot problems, this was eventual fixed by upgrading to the latest ASUS SE BIOS 1901, and all 8GBs are fine. System is much improved.
