samoukos
I acquired this memory CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 XMS3 DDR3 4GB (2X2GB) PC3-12800 (1600MHZ) DUAL CHANNEL KIT. It was supposed to work at 1600 MhZ. Ι changed the xmp profile in bios from auto to profile 1 but memtest freezes and sometimes i get blue screens. My bios is asrock p55 xtreme with a i5 cpu attached. Do i need to overclock the cpu as well to make xmp work? What can I do. At 1333 mHz memory works fine.Thank you in advance
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 14, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 14, 2009 It should work at DDR1600 but we have not tested that MB I would suggest asking the MB Maker if they have tested any DDR1600 memory modules. And I would check for the latest BIOS version as well.
samoukos
Asrock says that due to i5-750 CPU cannot support DDR3-1600 DRAM frequency by the memory controller inside of CPU , the XMP profile is useless for i5-750 CPU.Also that I can overclock my DRAM to DDR3-1600 frequency by "Memory EZ OC" in BIOS setting . Due to they didn't have the exactly DRAM module like mine , they have tested two Corsair DD3-1600 DRAM module (TR3X6G1600C7) on P55 Extreme .There was no problem on their system . They also suggested: 1.Setting the DRAM voltage to lower or higher level and try again. 2.Test another DRAM module on P55 Extreme and try again. I did choose memory oc but system freezes after 10 minutes of running memtest. Any suggestion about setting the DRAM voltage?
Wired
1.65 volts would be the correct setting for the memory voltage.
