Max ROCKSTONE
Hello, I got 2 pair of CM TwinX2 8500D whose one is a SLI named at 2.2 volt and the other one not bought at the same store 2.1 volt. On gour modules three ran well but one does not work at all, even alone and on all the four spots. I tried out with one, then two, then three modules... still OK. When I fit the fourth, the system boot and reboot without passing by the BIOS. You can stop the PC only when power off the PC. I think this module is out, what do I have to do ? Asking for a RMA ? Thanks for help, ideas.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 or DDR800 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
