Hernan_F
Hi, I have an HX1000W. When I power on: It ignites for 3 seconds and then it dies out... continuously!!! I have made the test of the paperclip, it seems good because the fan of the power supply runs correctly. What can I do to know & to test before requesting an RMA? Thanks for your help Hernan F
Wired
Could be something in your system overloading the PSU, and it's shutting itself down because of safety protocols. Disconnect everything from the PSU and motherboard except for the power connections and memory. See what happens.
Hernan_F
Yes, I have made some differents tests connecting the minimum cables to the power supply... always the same! It reboots continously...! I have 2 computers, with same motherboards, same ammount of memory, same 3 hard drives, and a like-same video card. Both have an HX1000W power supply. The first computer, runs perfectly. The second one, not! :(
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 6, 2009 Have you tried the other PSU from the working system in this one?
Hernan_F
Yes, I have tried my second HX1000W to my first working system and it does exactly same thing! :( Something else ca I do? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 7, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 7, 2009 Sounds like both PSUs are detecting a short from the system. You might want to pull out the motherboard and place it on a non-conductive surface and test it again with just CPU w/heatsink fan, RAM, and video card. If the system does power up and stay up, then install one component at a time.
rogue71
Hi, I have an HX1000W. When I power on: It ignites for 3 seconds and then it dies out... shouldnt use the word ignites....lol yea it sounds like you have a problem with your system if more than that one psu causes the same faults. Hernan_F
Ram Guy & rogue71, to test if it’s my computer system that cause problem, I have remplaced my power supply with the PSU of one of my friends... My computer runs ok. Unfortunately, I think I must request an RMA :( Thanks a lot anyway
dorel_81
Your PSU detect a short circuit and go into protection mode. This short circuit cold be inside of PSU or in the PSU cable. Check all possible cases
