Magnus1983
My mind has been hellbent on finding the issue with my PC since i upgraded my ram. I play this MMORPG called Darkfall Online, and every 30-60 min i get a 3-5 sec freeze.. and then it unfreezes again.. ive been thinking it was my ram for quiete awhile now since i had major issues just getting my 4 sticks going in the first place, had to upgrade my motherboard bios just to get the sticks to work without BSOD.. (ive tried to exclude the GFX card by testing multiple drivers etc.. but still same result with the 3-5 sec freezes... ) its worth mentioning i have no reboot crashes of any sort.. the system seems to be rocksolide.. i only have those annoying freezes every 30min to 60min.. and it last for 3-5 secs then unfreezes.. its not a connection issue or any of that sort because my other pc's don't freeze up like that. my current specs are this: 8GB 4x2gb configuration memory installed.. Corsair (the memory type info is in my specs profile) http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/3523/memoryj.png ive put the MCHcontroller to have a slight overvoltage of +0.1V i have a slight overclock on my CPU its at 3.2ghz @stock is 2.4ghz.. everything passes orthos prime for a long time.. and so does the memory.. ive tested the memory with the Win7 memory test utility and no errors are detected... any input would be greatly appriciated.. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 6, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
Magnus1983
no change :( still getting the freezes.. set it like you exactly described ram running 1:1 at 667 mhz.. and MCH is getting +.2v now
