BookIT
Hi I’m building a i920 D0 - GA-EX58-UD5 - TR3X6G1866C9DF system currently stable at 190 x 21. In “Core I7 MB Settings By X58 MB” QPI/VTT Voltage of 1.415 Volts is given for GA-EX58 mobos. In “Dominator Qualification and Testing DDR3” QPI/VTT Voltage of 1.6 Volts is given But in a recent post “Can't get TR3X6G1866C9DF past 1333 Mhz” there is a recommendation to lower the QPI/VTT Voltage to 1.35-1.4 Volts. Are the other two references for pre D0 920s and the QPI/VTT Voltage should be 1.35-1.4 Volts for a D0? Thxs
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 21, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 21, 2009 Yes that is correct so what is your question? With (D0) Stepping CPU's you may have to lower the QPI Voltage to keep the system stable.
BookIT
Hi Thanks for that. I was trying to get confirmation the D0 requires a lower QPI/VTT than earlier steppings. Corsair may wish to consider qualifying the two "stickies" I referred to. For 191 x 21 I had started off at CPU Vcore = 1.30000 & QPI/VTT = 1.415 I'm now down to CPU Vcore = 1.29375 & QPI/VTT = 1.375 hopefully will get lower. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 22, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 22, 2009 Well I am sorry we cannot tell users how to over clock I would suggest posting what you want to say in the over clocking section and the Mods will make it a sticky if needed.
