jaycdunn
My motherboard is an Intel DPBZ875. I've currently got 3 modules of CMX512-3200LLPT, two of them are TwinX. With 3 modules it doesn't run in dual channel mode though. A few minutes ago I took the third stick out and now I'm in dual channel mode, but with less RAM. I just won another TwinX pair on eBay yesterday. The pair I've already got in my machine is XMS3205v1.2 2326. The pair I just won says 2-2-2-6-T1. I haven't seen them in person yet. Anyway, now that I look at those numbers, it's pretty damn close, I think I'll be cool, unless maybe the voltage is different. So are these two pairs compatible, or should I have gotten the exact same that I already had? It's only gonna cost like $20 for the new pair shipped. If it won't work, I'll just sell one pair or give it to a friend I guess. I'd be happier if they were compatible though. Will this require a BIOS tweak? The numbers are almost the same, so I'm thinking not. Thanks in advance for your help.
jaycdunn
I guess nobody knows. I'll just try it. I'm also bidding on a pair of modules that matches my existing memory exactly, so I'll probably just use those instead.
Wired
Note: http://www.corsair.com/warranty/default.aspx WHAT PARTS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY? The following product(s) are not covered by this warranty: •Corsair product(s) that were not purchased directly through Corsair or a Corsair-authorized reseller Bidding sounds like it's being bought from an end user, so the item wouldn't have a warranty. Also, it's never recommended to mix memory of different part #s / version #s / lot #s (DDR1 only). Could work, but probably well under spec to get stable. Also, please don't bump a thread within 24 hours. Gotta give people time to check the forum and all that :)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 19, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 19, 2009 With 4 modules you will likely have to run them at DDR333 and set the Voltage to 2.8 Volts.
jaycdunn
Interesting. 3 modules run fine at DDR400 with no tweaks. I guess I'll find out. I have a pretty beefy power supply, it's an Enermax I think I'll just put those 2-2-2-6 modules in a different machine or see if someone I know could use them. About bumping the post, I saw that it had over 30 views before I posted again. Sorry 'bout that.
Wired
Yeah, views usually don't mean much because of all the search engine / spam spiders out there :) No worries :)
jaycdunn
With 4 modules you will likely have to run them at DDR333 and set the Voltage to 2.8 Volts. So I wonder what's the best configuration? If I have to run 4 modules at DDR333, maybe I should just stick w/ 3 modules in single channel mode, or sell the 512 MB modules and go with a Twin X pair of 1 GB sticks. I suppose that would be the best. Yeah, I'll try it and if 4 modules don't run at DDR400, I'll sell all my 512 modules and get a 2GB pair.
jaycdunn
I did win the auction on that other pair of Twin X modules that match my existing memory exactly. Well, it does have T1 after the CAS#, but the third module I already have has this as well, so I know it's not a problem. I don't know what the T1 means though. Experts? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 24, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 24, 2009 T1 refers to Command Rate and with more than two modules 2T command Rate should be used.
