Sigma86
Hi, I want to increase the memory in my PC from 2GB to 6GB. I was planning on buying Twin 2X2GB memory. Do I need to stay with C4 type latencies or can I add any memory that the memory configurator lists as compatible with my motherboard. Right now I am not overclocking, but was considering mildly overclocking the system in the future. The following are listed as compatible: 1. TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX 2. TWIN2X4096-6400C5 Would both work even though the latencies and voltages are different? Thanks
Wired
Why 6 GB? Note that it's never recommended to mix part numbers or memory of different sizes (and revisions for that matter).
Sigma86
I currently have 2GB and 2 slots left. Since the price difference between 2GB and 4GB isn't too much and I won't have any slots left I figured to go with 4GB. But since you said not to mix different sizes I guess I am locked in to 2X1GB of c4 type memory, right? Thanks
Wired
No, you could get the TWIN2X4096 pack and replace what you currently have.
