earthscapeone
As I'm purchasing replacement components as I can afford them, right now I've got a system that's in between operating systems. I'm on XP Home 32 bit now, and will move to Windows 7 when I get a new video card that is compatible with it and generally a 64 bit system. Since I just got the TR3X6G1600C9, that's 2G more than my system will currently handle. What do I need to know about how I need to install and configure now, versus how to install and configure once my system upgrade is more complete? Wired
Nothing. Just pop in the memory, set XMP, and you're all set to go.
earthscapeone
Thanks, I thought that might be the case. But as I'm replacing old equipment and trying to bring myself back up-to-date, I'm not familiar with XMP. Just what is it, and what do I need to know to set it? I actually haven't gotten my new motherboard yet - I'm getting that this week - so if XMP is part of motherboard settings perhaps I will find instructions in the manual. If that is not the case, or needs further explanation, please let me know. Thanks.
