bn_hot
I have a GA-EP45-UD3R and am using Corsair CM2x2048-8500C5D memory, Ultra X3-600W power supply. It isn't overclocked or otherwise "adjusted". My computer has been crashing randomly so I fired up memtest. It crashed really quick. I then tried each memory stick (I have 4 total) one at a time, no problem with memtest. If I add a second stick, it is crashing 47% of the way through test #1 of memtest. Doesn't matter which stick or slot, when there is two in there, this happens. Please Help? Thanks!!!!
Wired
What timings / voltage do you have the memory set to?
bn_hot
BIOS optimized defaults. 5-5-5-15 dram voltage is 1.8 (guessing that was the one you were looking for?)
bn_hot
also... memtest reboots system. With all 4 sticks of ram in there, it crashes after about 4 seconds of Test #0. I also disabled "Legacy USB Storage Detect".
Wired
First, that memory requires 2.1v. Also, with 4 sticks you may not be able to hit 1066 MHz. Try 800 MHz in that scenario.
bn_hot
Ok, adjusted the dram voltage to 2.1. Where do I adjust it to 800MHz?
Wired
For right now, test 2 sticks at a time at 2.1v @ 1066 MHz.
bn_hot
Still reboots with 2 sticks. Just on a whim, I tried using memtest 3.4 (I was using 3.5) and it isn't crashing with the 2 sticks. I put all 4 sticks in and have memtest 3.4 running. I will post an update tomorrow. Wired
Use Memtest86+ v2.11 (link on the left sidebar), not Memtest 3.x.
bn_hot
Ok, 2.11 is running.... :)
bn_hot
It ran all night, no crashes or errors. It appears that the change in dram voltage from 1.8 to 2.1 may have fixed it... time will tell for sure, but thanks for the help!!!
bn_hot
I adjusted memory to 800mhz. Still crashing :(
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 24, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 24, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 or DDR800 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
bn_hot
This was resolved on another forum after several BIOS changes. The system is now stable. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum2.php?config=tomshardwareus.inc&cat=30&post=264426&page=1&p=11&sondage=0&owntopic=1&trash=0&trash_post=0&print=0&numreponse=0"e_only=0&new=0&nojs=
