dirk1166
Hello, i want to increase my system Ram from 4 GB to 8 GB. So i bought another 4 GB Kit of CM2x2048-6400C5DHX. My old Kit has the version number ver4.1 and my new Kit is ver1.2. So the first one should have PSC chips and the second Micron. Is this ok, or should i go and get another Kit with the same Version number? Thank you for your help. Regards, Dirk
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 11, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 11, 2009 Should be OK just don't mix them, and with 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
