rickjb
I have an ASUS P5K-Deluxe WiFi-AP mobo and would like to push it to 8 gig in anticipation of Windows 7. I'd like to be able to run the memory at 800 Hz. I've checked the compatibility charts on the Corsair home site and found that the Dominator Twin2x4096-8500 C5DF (4 gig) and the XMS2 Q2x8G6400C4DHX (8 gig set) are both compatible. I have the following questions: 1. Will the XMS2 memory really run at 800 Hz or should I get two sets of the Dominator and "force" them to run at 800 Hz? 2. In either case, will heat be a problem? If so, how is it best resolved.
Wired
Get the Q2X8G6400C4DHX kit, as no one can guarantee the compatibility of 2 kits that aren't tested together. Heat won't be an issue.
