Foxconn Blackops X48 vs Q9400 vs CM3X4G1600C9DHX

Hello

I'm quite an overclocking noob. So I have a few questions. I've seen a few

reviews of the Q9400 handling FSB of 450+ all day and maxing out around

490, while 490 for this cpu must be quite high I was still expecting around

450.

This Corsair CM3X4G1600C9DHX RAM I recieved (I actually ordered

TW3X4G1600C9DHX which I'll take up with my supplier) by default is only

running at 1066 @ 333 FSB , and at the very best overclock I can only

manage.

1360 @ 425 FSB with a 1:3.2 memory divider.

There is a 1:4 memory divider setting in the BIOS however soon as I

enable that the max I can achieve is

1400 @ 350 FSB with 1:4 memory divider.

any higher it wont even POST. Unfortunatly there are no other memory

divider settings in the Blackops BIOS. So what is the go? I bought this

RAM under the impression that what I was paying for ran at 1600 by

default. Oh and by the way I've set the timings to 9-9-9-24-2T, but when

I check in cpu-z it comes back as 8-9-9-24-2T ???

FYI CM3X4G1600C9DHX is the new part number for TW3X4G1600C9DHX. Same physical part and specs.

Check the MEMORY tab, not the SPD tab for what speed / timings your memory is actually running at.

The memory will be limited by the FSB, so unless you can get your CPU to an FSB of 1600 the memory will never run at rated speeds.
