JustinHEMI
Hello Friends Big fan of corsair stuff here. Have the HX1000, 6 gb RAM and soon the Obsidian. I am writing tonight because today, twice now, my computer turned all the way off (fans off, lights off) and then rebooted. This is usually indicative of a PSU issue, overheating, or RAM. I wanted to see if there were some tests I could due to check the PSU? The RAM appears to be ok and it isn't overheating. Thanks for your time. JustinHEMI
Ok 3 times now. It has happened each time while playing crysis wars. So power supply or video card related? Justin
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 8, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 8, 2009 Does it only happen with this Video game?
JustinHEMI
Yes so far, it was only while playing crysis (twice) or shortly after (once). It hasn't happened since. The only change I have made recently is new drivers for the video cards. I think I am starting to suspect those, but I have never experienced a complete power off before. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 8, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 8, 2009 I was about to say the same thing. Try going back to the previous drivers and see if the issue clears up. If it only happens with this game i would have to assume its and issue with the drivers. Let me know what happens! JustinHEMI
Hmmm interestingly, before I had a chance to change video drivers, it just happened again while I was watching a movie in WMP. Just power off, then back on. Should I still change video drivers? Justin
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 9, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 9, 2009 I would still change the drivers back to the old version and see if this clears the issue. If the problem still persists then I would have the PSU replaced.
