lazygamer
I am new in the water cooling. So I may ask wrong question. Is it OK to put the radiator in the ice water for maximum cooling performance?
PCCstudent
Chilled water requires insulating all tubing (condensation will form) and packing the CPU in some type of water repellant (like massive amounts water repellant grease). Sounds like trouble.
lazygamer
My thinking is to keep the radiator around 20C ~30C which is room temp instead of the case temp and this should help more. I should give it a try.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 8, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 8, 2009 Keep in mind that the heat from the radiator is inevitably going to heat up the ice water to the same temp as the coolant inside the radiator, so at most this may give you a temporary boost in cooling efficiency. Keep an eye on condensation too, you do not want the H50 to start building up condensation which can drip into your system.

I should give it a try. if u have the fan sucking air into your system then the rad should be cooled by air at room temp. this is why they suggest that you orientate the exhaust fan to be an intake fan over the rad. cases with top exhaust or side exhaust fans will benefit from this setup the most as the warm air from the rad can be immediately exhausted from the system with minimal effect on internal case temps. Synthohol
this was a TEC project dual loop chilled on both sides i did when i got bored. http://liquidninjas.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=15537 http://liquidninjas.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=15500 i tried that, only works for a little bit. not really worth the effort for a cooling solution BUT it was cool as hell to try!! fun threads i linked above. http://liquidninjas.com/bbs/attachment.php?attachmentid=3572&stc=1&d=1224951751
