620 PS - Computer Rebooting automatically

I've had the power supply for about a year. Recently I've had the computer start rebooting while in XP, with no errors or blue screens, then auto restart. Over the last week, it was doing it during load, then during BIOS, now it happens anytime anywhere. I went through the normal 'unplug all', test the Corsair memory etc, and at one point listened to the local Frys tech that it must be the motherboard, so I replaced it.

Still finding the same issue, and I've seen other posts similar to this so wondering what to do. The PSU fan works, clip test works, but seems like it's just not sending enough power or steady power to boot up.

I thinks the modular PSU rocks, just need to get the machine back up and running.:o:

thx,

There are a few possibilities:

1. Something is overheating, check your temps next time following a shutdown.

2. Possibly a memory problem, use http://www.memtest.org to make sure you are not getting any errors.

3. The motherboard or some other component is going out of spec and tripping the overcurrent/overvoltage protection circuits in the PSU. Try the PSU in a different system to see if you have the same problems.

4. There is a faulty component in the PSU.

I would go down the list (sounds like you have already tried some) and see if you can narrow down the possibilities. If it looks like there is a good chance that a replacement PSU will resolve the issues then, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”
