DoubleMTV
I have just purchased 8GB of the above memory. 4 x 2GB and the 2 packs I got are slightly different, the one set is ver1.2 (09340128) and the 2nd set is ver2.2 (09241211). As this is going in the same system I would like to know if there is any difference between the two and if I could encounter any problems? Thanks Mike
Wired
Yes, and possibly. Best to get a quad kit, as they're guaranteed to work together, rather than 2 separate kits which aren't.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 2, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 2, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 or DDR800 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
