PeterFazekas
So, you know the dual-fan Airflow for the triple-channel kits? The one that's advertised to be near silent? Well it's not. It's like a damn tornado. It outperforms the Intel stock cooler. In fact i can't even hear the Intel stock cooler when this thing is on. This thing sounds twice as bad as those old northbridge coolers that had 40mm fans spinning at insane RPMs. Is it supposed to be so loud? I have it connected to a motherboard fan header. I'll just put it on my fan controller unit for now. EDIT: Motherboard is an EX58-UD5. I checked the BIOS and it says it's running at 4000 RPM! Holy mother of god! Wired
Where have you seen it advertised that it's supposed to be silent? 4000 RPM is correct BTW.

PCCstudent
Good one Peter! I was thinking of buying this, now you have saved me the trouble of returning it. I really like my Corsair memory and power supplies but the comments on the H50,the P128 and now this product have made me think about sticking with the base products from Corsair. PeterFazekas
^To be fair though, if you have a fan controller you can run it at low RPMs and then it's pretty neat. But yeah if you just stick it on your motherboard without any limitations it's going to be horribly loud.
Bedo
I'm running DHX Airflow at 90% (controlling speed by BIOS), it is quite silent. My CPU Cooler (Asus Triton 88) makes a lot more noise!
PeterFazekas
Is mine faulty then? Some clarification from Corsair would be nice.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 2, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 2, 2009 If its loud we can try replacing the FAN but at full speed they will make some noise. The part number would be CMXAF2 and please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it.
another_bryan
http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc43/DragunovHUN/P1020364.jpg Aaaaah, there is your problem. Per the label, only one of the fans is silent - they make no mention of the other one

I just fixed the problem by running the unit on 5 volts with my fan controller. But "some noise" is definitely not how i would describe this. Aaaaah, there is your problem. Per the label, only one of the fans is silent - they make no mention of the other one Hahahah, good one. :D:
MUGEN
I have my dominator gt fan hooked up to a speed controller and it's set at the lowest speed and it still keeps the ram cool and I can't hear the fan.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 9, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 9, 2009 The Fan will make some noise but you should not be able to hear it with your case closed, if your fan make to much noise we can try replacing it I have already posted a link to get them replaced.
