Guille2228
Hi, I'm new here and have a question for you all. I just bought a tx750w and my +12v is ready at 11.64 even under light load. Going to try Cyris or Fear and see if I my computer shuts down on me. My question: Should I be concerned about this?
Wired
How are you measuring the voltage?
Guille2228
Through bios and Speedfan. Last power supply I was using was reading at 11.96, so 11.64 seems like a bit of a drop.
Guille2228
Ok, just played a few games trying to load the pc and using PC Probe, my readying on the 12v was 11.48. I wanted to add another GPU and I'm afraid I'll have problems. May just have to call support.
Wired
FYI if it's between 11.4 and 12.6 it's within ATX spec.
FEAR6655
I would try measuring the voltage at the molex plugs using a multimeter.
Guille2228
K, tried it at the molex and I got 5.03v What should I be getting?
FEAR6655
Thats correct for the +5v side of the molex, try the yellow wire (+12v).
Guille2228
Tried the yellow and got 11.48, but it bounced a bit wasn't constant. High was 11.53 and low was 11.45. I would think that the 12v should be constant? right??? Oh sometimes when I turn the computer off, it doesn't fully turn off. It looks like the motheboard, fans and psu stay on. I have to reset and then I can turn it off.
FEAR6655
Although that reading is within specifications, it is a bit low for my likings. I myself would RMA it.
Guille2228
Yes, think I'm going to do RMA. I wanted to add another Nvidia 280 for SLI. They are very power hungry, but I don't know if I would feel confortable, when I'm already starting at 11.48.
Guille2228
Got email back from support. Stated "its within specs don't worry about it."
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 3, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 3, 2009 Yes, it is still within the spec but we can always get it replaced if you are not comfortable with this unit.
