Hi, I bought 1024Mb Corsair TWINX CMX512-3200C2 and I have a lot of problems... The bios sets the timings to: 3-3-3-8, i tried 2-3-3-6 and 2.5-3-3-6 but windows doesn't boot. If I put 3-3-3-8 windows boots but I have crashes with 3dmark03, photoshop, 3d studio max, far cry and unreal tournament 2004 :(:. I tried memtest too, but I stopped it after 20 minutes with a lot of errors. Motherboard Asus A7N8X-E deluxe bios 1008 Corsair CMX512-3200C2 XMS3202 v3.1 0411040-2 I bought this ram in USA but I live in Italy. Can You help me please? Thank You

Welcome to the forums, knish! That memory is rated to 2.5-3-3-6 on AMD systems, FYI. Try these settings with your modules in DIMM slots 1 & 3 (and back off any overclocking you may have done): These are found under the advanced chipset options in BIOS: Memory Interface - 100% Memory Latencies - [Manual] CAS Latency - 2.5 RAS Precharge - 3 RAS to CAS Delay - 3 Active Delay (tRAS) - 6 DDR Voltage - 2.7x (not to exceed 2.8v) Then run Memtest86 and see if you get errors. If you do, run the modules one at a time for at least 2 full passes of Memtest86 to check if one of them is failing. And please, list your full system specifications: CPU, HDD's, etc. PLUR CK

I have a barton 2500 and I set fsb at 200mhz. I will back off the cpu's overclock for the test to 166 mhz. Can I left the memories frequency at 200 mhz for the test? My system specifications: Mb Asus A7N8X-E deluxe, bios 1008; CPU Barton 2500+; POV Geforce FX 5900XT; 4 Hard Drives Maxtor Atlas 10k3 36Gb; Adaptec 29160N; Power supply Antec 550w. Thank you and sorry for my english :p:

Try running it at 166 Mhz first. If that passes, try 200 Mhz, however it may still have problems as then you'd be running the mem speed out of sync with the CPU speed. and don't worry about your english, it's fine :) 1 tip though, in that sentence it's leave, not left.

That seems to be a bios issue with the -E version of the MB, I would try and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and leave the timings at Cass 2.5-3-3-7 and see if that does not solve the problem.

hello, I'm trying with one stick at a time in slot 1, I just finished with the first: cpu fsb 200 ram at 200 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6 ddr voltage 2.7 errors cpu fsb 199 ram at 199 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6 ddr voltage 2.7 errors cpu fsb 166 ram at 200 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6 ddr voltage 2.7 errors cpu fsb 166 ram at 200 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 7 ddr voltage 2.7 errors cpu fsb 166 ram at 166 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6 ddr voltage 2.7 no errors tomorrow I will test the second stick and then I will try with another motherbord, my friend has another A7N8X-E deluxe...

The first pair of tests are with your CPU overclocked, 2nd pair of tests are with the FSB and RAM async, and the 5th one is with everything as it should be. No surprise you got errors on the first 4, and none on the 5th.
