UCLing
Just recently purchased two sticks of VS1GB667D2, 1 GB each for a total of 2 GBs. My computer has 4 slots, with 2 already taken by the old RAM sticks. After I install the new Corsair RAM, my computer starts up, opens to my desktop, then blue screens. I remove one Corsair chip, and it doesn't even start up before blue screening. I remove both, and it still blue screens. Windows did some kinda recovery thing, and now my computer works again. Wondering how I'll be able to install my Corsair chips without my computer going all funky.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 28, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 28, 2009 Please get a test disk from http://www.memtest.org and then remove all of the memory in your system and turn it on, it should beep for no memory installed and then turn it off and install just one of our modules then turn it back on with just one module installed and let it boot to the memtest disk. If that module passes two passes then turn it off and remove the one installed and install the other module and do the same thing test each module one at a time. If they both pass then install them together and leave your old memory out and then test them together with http://www.memtest.org if they both pass then restart it and let it come up to windows to make sure its stable. If you do find one is failing then, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them.
