Gary04Z06
I've tried the Flash Voyager drive on about 7 different XP and Vista computers. When you put it in the computer, it says its installing, but then says there was a problem, malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistance click this message, which of course is no help. They all do not recognize the drive, in device manager, it says "unknown device". I am guessing it's shot, only had it a few months. Any way to get the data off of it? Gary
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 27, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 27, 2009 We can replace the drive for you, however we do not offer any type of data recovery software or services. If the data is important then you may want to review the article here: http://www.corsair.com/_appnotes/AN803_CommonIssues_HelpfulTips_DLoss_DCorruption.pdf. for some data recovery advise. You may also want to check out websites such as http://www.download.com and http://www.softpedia.com and search for "USB Data Recovery," to see if you can find some freeware/shareware that may help you recover the data. If all else fails then you may need to contact a local data recovery service center to find out if the data is recoverable. Let's get it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”
Gary04Z06
Thanks Ramguy. The recovery software won't work since the computer does not recognoze the drive. I'll try a few out, and will send in to get the drive replaced. Thanks for your help.
