ammath
Hi guys, I need som input om a problem. Ive had a wierd problem since i upgraded to 4x2gb sticks. If i cut power (remove powercord to my PSU also a corsair 850watt by the way) and then insert it my computer will start up, and then shut down looping a BIOS error that i can not set clock freq. A1 i think its called. Anyway I was wondering if this could be that my memories are not getting enough Volts? Ive set the recommeded as for the model but would I risk damaging them alot if i tried and increased it 0.1 volts?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 24, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 24, 2009 Are you trying to run them at DDR1066? If so please see what we posted previously about mixing two sets of Twins. With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 or DDR800 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
