fizzyflaskan
Is it possible to run Crossfire on this PSU (XT650) , And how so , It only has 2 PCIe power cords ? Will run crossfire between a hd4870 and a 4870 x2 if possible else two regular hd4870 if thats possible.
JoeBob
You'll have to use a splitter, sacrificing two molexes for each extra PCIe connector. Two HD4870s will be just fine, a HD4870X2 a HD4870 would probably still work as well, though you'd get close to the limits with the latter cards depending on what CPU and other equipment you're running, and any overclocking you might do. fizzyflaskan
that I sureley can do, but will the PSU have power to run a hd4870x2 and a hd4870 in crossfire??
FEAR6655
Corsair recommends at least the TX750 for 4870X2 and 4870. TX650 would probably work but you will be *very* close, if not right on, the maximum of the PSU, and as the PSU ages and its power output drops you will probably cross the line. 2x 4870's would work fine.
