HX1000W not enough power? Reboots with quad sli?

currently I have the cpu OC to 3.35 at 1.3vcore

I can OC my video card, but when I pass 730mhz on the cores and try to run a game or benchmark, the machine will just reboot?

I scaled the cpu back to stock - same issue. I tried every variable imaginable - same result.

I double checked and made sure I followed the rail diagram (both gpu on 12v2 (first card gets hard wired pci-e and second the blue modular ones) and cpu on 12v1.)

Is it possible my system when being heavily overclocked draws more power than the hx1000 can deliver?

I actually have not done a mem test on the ram since they are well under-clocked (1600mhz, not 2000) since I was working on my gpu overclocks first before I pushed my CPU.

I did read there was a recall on these modules because of a high defect rate. Do you think this may be the issue? I never thought of that until you mentioned it.

funky25..... the sticky here with the rail diagram says both GPU 1 and 2 should be on 12v2..the hardwired ones going to the first GPU and the modular ones going to the second gpu so I am not sure why you would suggest that?

lol well just try it diagram says that in case there is 3 gpus ,diagram also says gpu3 on 12v1 its clear math one gtx295 pulls out 300w and u on 12v2 have only 500 w so so your 2 gtx 295 pull 600w your missing 100w on 12v2 rail, its logical to share other grafic card with cpu hope u work it out :)

funky25,

you were right.

I never thought about the math (wasn't sure what a 295 drew wattage wise) and since I am overclocking it 30%... lol who knows what they actually need.

However seems I have another issue. I cant really OC the cpu as much because if i do it reboots lol I guess with my setup I am pushing it?

BTW i did a mem test using stock cpu and xmp profile - 15 passes no problem. So my mem is fine and I was never worried about it.
