captainthrall
I am a little fuzzy on the exact speed/latency/timing settings that I should be using with this combination of hardware, so I thought I would come here and ask you wonderful experts. I will type verbatum what my BIOS shows in the RAM settings. Can you please tell me what values I should be using in place of the #####'s? Also, if it's not too much trouble can you give me a second list of maximum recommended overclocked values? Thanks! The BIOS input page looks exactly like this: 1st information: #-#-#-##-#-##-##-#-##-# DRAM CAS# Latency #### DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay #### DRAM RAS# PRE time #### DRAM RAS# ACT time #### DRAM RAS# to RAS# Delay #### DRAM Ref Cycle time #### DRAM Write recovery time #### DRAM READ to PRE time #### DRAM FOUR ACT WIN time #### DRAM Back-to-Back CAS# Delay #### 2nd information: #-#-##-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-#-# DRAM WRITE to Read Delay(DD) #### DRAM WRITE to Read Delay(DR) #### DRAM WRITE to Read Delay(SR) #### DRAM READ to WRITE Delay(DD) #### DRAM READ to WRITE Delay(DR) #### DRAM READ to WRITE Delay(SR) #### DRAM Read to Read Delay(DD) #### DRAM Read to Read Delay(DR) #### DRAM Read to Read Delay(SR) #### DRAM Write to Write Delay(DD) #### DRAM Write to Write Delay(DR) #### DRAM Write to Write Delay(SR) #### Thank you for your time and consideration. Wired
Just turn on XMP and you'll be all set to go.
captainthrall
That's it? Just turn on xmp and leave everything on auto? I thought it would be better to manually calibrate, especially because my bios auto-detects the latency of my sticks as 9-9-9 instead of 8-8-
Wired
XMP sets all of that for you. I have a similar rig and that's all I had to do.
captainthrall
ya, I just checked and the XMP settings are incorrect. I have to put them in manually.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 18, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 18, 2009 Make sure that you have the latest BIOS and then load setup defaults and enable XMP profile one should be all you need to do.
