mclarenvj
Hi, I own Corsair Dominator Twin2x4096-8500C5D (rest of PC Spec is in the System Spec). It really bugs me sometimes that while it used to report 4096Mb in Windows 7 64-Bit, and now it only reports 4095Mb. I also own Corsair Dominator Twin2x2048-8500C5D, and when I use those, the full 2048Mb is reported in Windows 7 64-Bit. Also, I have quite a few instability issues, which i personally think is just the huge mass of dust we have in our house because we're having an extension built... I only seem to get instability issues after continuous use, the only way to cure it is leaving my PC off for about 30mins which gets rather frustrating. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 14, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 14, 2009 That is normal for the first meg to be reserved by the system with 4.0+ Gig is installed. But if you are having a problem I would suggest running http://www.memtest.org on the modules one at a time to be sure one is not failing.
mclarenvj
should I do this after my extension and there is probably a more likely chance of not crashing..?, i'll run memtest on 1 module tomorrow with 533Mhz 5-5-5-15 2.1v for 5 hours? and then switch over the module and run it again for 5 hours.? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 14, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 14, 2009 That would be where I would start to make sure its not a failing module.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 14, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 14, 2009 According to your pic they are running at DDR1066 at the proper settings and you cannot mix these sets, if you do DDR800 or DDR667 would be suggested. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 14, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 14, 2009 I have already addressed your question in the second or third reply, did you have another question?
mclarenvj
ok, cheers, in my picture though, it looks like it's reserved 1mb even though there's only 2 gigs of ram installed..
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 18, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 18, 2009 That is not uncommom for some BIOS kernels to reserve the 1 t meg of memory for the system, if the system is stabl I would not worry about it.
