JohanL
Hello! I have my DVD player connected to my HX520 and the cord have basically 3 connectors, one that fits in the PSU and then there are two "outputs", which I'm using one of for the DVD. My question is, can I use the other "output" on this cord to power one of my chassi fans (Kama Bay, 120mm fan) or is it only intended for the same kind of equipment i.e. a DVD. The connector fits and it seams to work good but I wonder if this could create some problems and it's actually more suitable to have a dedicated fan cord directly from the PSU. Wired
DVD ROM you mean?
JohanL
Yes, the internal drive you put CD and DVD discs in. Maybe the correct name is DVD-rom. The word DVD-player maybe only exist in the Swenglish language ;) Not easy to get everything right in a foreign language... /Johan
FEAR6655
You can put any combination of hardware on the same power lead, if the plug fits you're good to go. BTW, English isn't your first languange? Wow, I'd never have noticed.
Wired
Over here, DVD player usually means a DVD player you connect to your TV. Just wanted to make sure you weren't using the power cable for one of those devices for your computer :)
Yellowbeard
Fans use a very small amount of power so you should be fine.
JohanL
Hello, Thanks for your prompt answers! Interesting about the DVD-player vs. DVD rom, I can understand your confusion. It actually made the original question kind of funny since I guess it happens that people use the PSU to run equipment outside the computer. Always good to learn some more english and computer stuff. Thanks again! Best regards, Johan, Sweden
Wired
I didn't mean a PSU internal cable to run a DVD player, I meant using the power cable between the wall and the DVD player. There's different cable ratings for different devices.
