cleancut
Need some help getting 4x CMX1024-6400C4 sticks working nicely together. The kits are bought about 3 years apart so, of course, they are not the same revisions. Kit #1: TWIN2X2048-6400C4 version 2.1 Kit #2: TWIN2X2048-6400C4 version 5.3 Both kits run stable alone w/ 4-4-4-12 2T @ 2.1V. What I have attempted so far: 400mhz 4-4-4-12 2T @ 2.1V - BSOD 400mhz 5-5-5-18 2T @ 2.1V - BSOD 354mhz 4-4-4-12 2T @ 2.1V - BSOD When I get home I will play with them some more and even attempt less Volts and see how far I get. Any suggestions? Or would I need to RMA a kit for a matching revision pair? Thanks in advanced.. If I'm missing something please let me know. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 11, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 11, 2009 When using 2 TWIN sets together, it is possible that you could run into a limitation on the chipset, and there are two options to get the system to stabilize when using all four modules together. Option one is to drop the memory frequency to the next slower level to cut the memory controller some slack and allow it to keep up with the memory, and the second option would be to overclock the board. Overclocking would need to be done at your own risk and results will vary from board to board. If you decide to try it, I would suggest that you increase Northbridge voltage to 1.45-1.5 volts. Try these setting below: Frequency: 667Mhz Memory Voltage: 2.1v TCL: 5 TRCD: 5 TRP: 5 TRAS: 15 Command Per Clock: 2T TRC: 28 NB Core Voltage: 1.4v
