N0cturnal
Hey RAMGUY, I was wondering if you could tell me what the correct voltage reading should be on pin 8 power_ok line of the 24 pin connector. It should be the gray wire that I am referring to. When I disconnect the 24 pin connector from the motherboard and take a voltage reading at pin 8 (during psu functionality test) I get a voltage reading of 5.05 volts. Now when I reconnect the 24 pin connector to the motherboard and take a voltage reading at pin 8 the voltage reading dropped to 3.79 volts. All other voltage lines like the 12,5, and 3 volts are within specs whether disconnected or connected to the motherboard. Is this normal for pin 8 to drop like that? Or is it an indication that something is wrong? Thanks, N0cturnal
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 6, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 6, 2009 The yellow wire should read between 11.4 ~12.6v. I would suggest you to connect the 24 pin and power on the system to measure the 8pin as the readout may be a lot lower if the system is not putting any load on the PSU.
