kru20o1
I'm using i7 920 @ 4.0ghz w/ Antec 902 case. In Realtemp my idle is 51c-52c. Under full load it hits mid 70's.
fearz
What about your VCore? & ambient temps?
Speedi
My Core i7 920 is OC to 3.2GHz; idle is 38 C from RealTemp 3.0. My VCore is 1.14-1.15v, from CPUID Hardware Monitor and PC Probe II. The temp in the room is 77 F or 25 C, according to the thermometer sitting on my desk.
LordVampyre
Been working on this today. Called Corsair and a great tech helped me with some stuff. The results were great. OC'd to 3.0GHz I was running around 57 at idle and as high as 70 under load. I wasnt very happy with that seeing others getting much better temps. Air flow is one thing. So, Im working on that. And I found out even though the computer hasnt been moved that one of the retaining screws was very loose in position #2 (lower right) So, tightened that up and now at 3.5GHz Im running : Cpu temp 56 idle on load went up to 60 and stayed there. GPU ambient says 48 ... so Im guessing thats alright. Think Ill put this back down to 3.0 and see what the temps are then. Alright took it back down to 3.0GHz and temps are cpu 52c so not a huge change.. okay did some work with my case fans... as I already knew I had a serious alr flow problem. So changed 3 fans around and now My temps are cpu 49 and 52 under load even better my gpu temp. dropped 8 degrees too. One more fan to change and then it should hopefully be even better. Speedi
What is your ambient temp of the computer location/room? My temp will float up to 40C at idle, if the room temp rises to 26C, like it does in the evening.
rene mauricio
My 920 is at 4GHz with a VCore of 1.26. Idle it is at the high 40's and under Linpack load it is at mid 70's. This is a fantastic jump from the HDT-S1283 I had before which would idle at the same but was in the mid 80's under load. :D Corsair made a believer out of me. sleepingzzz
My specs: i7 920 OC'd to 3.2GHz eVga X58 SLI LE Room Temp: 21-25C Idle temps: 20-25C Load temps: 45-51C (Using Prime 95 blend) My stock Intel HSF: Idle temps: 45-50C Load temps: 65-75C Thodgson are you using any other after market cooling parts on your motherboard? I tried the same setting with my 920 and I reached 40 C at idle and 68 C at max load. Room temp in my house is around 25 C.
Speedi
My specs: i7 920 OC'd to 3.2GHz eVga X58 SLI LE Room Temp: 21-25C Idle temps: 20-25C Load temps: 45-51C (Using Prime 95 blend) My stock Intel HSF: Idle temps: 45-50C Load temps: 65-75C That's pretty dang low. I don't think I could get processor to 20-25C idle if I tried more. Are you using stock paste and fan configuration?
Big Elf
thodgson - I'd be interested with the readings from a proper monitoring program like Real Temp. Those idle temperatures are impossible with watercooling and the quoted ambient temperatures.
J400uk
Running it in a P180 Mini, with the 120mm rear fan and 200mm top fan. Getting low 30s at idle on my stock i7-920 according to Realtemp. Increases to mid 50s on full load. Ambient temp is about 25c.
