Bidybag
Is the HX620 enough for the Geforce295 GTX to run at maximum performance? Nvidia says the system needs 680+.
FEAR6655
It should be fine.
Wired
Check the PSU finder on the left to be safe.
Bidybag
According to the PSU finder 620 is fine, but im confused, why did Nvidia tell me i have to have at least 680? They said the card runs in a low performance mode if you have lower.
FEAR6655
Because that is taking into account all the low quality power supplies out and about. Corsair is a high quality brand, the 620 will handle it fine. Heck, my GTX260 said a minimum of 630W but it ran FINE on a high quality 500w. Bidybag
How do you know if its actually fine thou? I mean it can run and all look perfectly normal, but how do you know if the card is running at maximum performance?
FEAR6655
Its not like the card just sits there running slow, the NVIDIA driver will halt all accelerated 3D operations and spew error messages at you when there isn't enougn power. Aperage is what really matters, HX620 has 50A availble on the 12v and the GTX295 needs about 20A in worst case scenario, it will be fine.
