marto
Firstly a big hello to everyone. New to the forums :D: I recently bought a striker II extreme board and i would like to buy some 2000MHz dominator GT ram. I have found a kit that i like but I'm not sure if its compatible with my motherboard. P/n : TR3X6G2000C8GTF Will it work? Thanks in advance. cheers martin. Wired
Yes and no. Compatible? Yes. They'll work, but you should only use 2 instead of 3 sticks. Also, that part # has been retired. Look for CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 (same specs).
marto
hey mate Thanks for the reply If i use 2 sticks of the 3 its all good? Is there any difference between the too? CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 TR3X6G2000C8GTF i could ask the store to get it in for me if its worth the hassle, as they only have the TR3X**** kit available or listed on the website. I have to deal with this company because i might be sending back a different brand of ram because of instability, and i was going to swap it with a nice set of corsair. I just want to make sure my second choice is the right one. oh one more question it states on the store webpage that.. •Each three module set is tested at 2000MHz •Tested together at 2000MHz, Vdimm = 1.65V, at latency settings of 8-8-8-24 on X58-based motherboards •SPD programmed at: XMP 8-8-8-24 values at 2000MHz at 1.65V Vdimm •JEDEC standard 9-9-9-24 values at 1333MHz. with my striker II extreme mobo (790i ultra chipset) with the modules set at 2000mhz will i be able to achieve 8-8-8-24? will XMP function? does it need to? cheers martin. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 30, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 30, 2009 Either part will be fine if they still have the Tr3X6G2000C8GTF they will be fine just note what wired had stated, and Getting 1600-1800 Mhz on a strikers II MB will be good. The CPU you use will be the biggest factor on how well it will over clock.

Unco4eveR
I know you've already said it but can I confirm that using 2 of the 3 RAM sticks from the CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 package is compatable with the asus striker 2 extreme motherboard. I just dont want to make a mistake a risk ~$500-$600 >< Thanks in advance!
