Athlon
Hi guys, i just been upgrading my pc, with some new stuff, today the people at the store sold me 2 kits of memory of which they were convinced it would work with my mainboard... Ok, so i insert the first kit, no problem, then 1 module of the second kit, still fine, then the 2nd module of the 2nd kit, and my system fails... it gives me a continues beep for about 3 seconds, then seems to be trying to reboot the system... I've been over the forum, have sought contact with gigabyte, tried to raise the voltage of the north-bridge all seems to fail whatsoever. When i take the out the 4th module, it's all fine again. EDIT: PS. my Bios version is F2 i updated it yesterday to have my phemon working on the AM2+ board
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 28, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 28, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
