Welles
I just purchased a new MacBook Pro 13" and was going to install a Corsair CMFSSD-256GBG2D 2.5" 256GB SATA SSD as they consistently receive excellent reviews. However, there are none available from any of my usual distributors, New Egg, Amazon, Provantage, ZipZoomify etc. I wonder if there was a new version soon to fill this void or whether it is simply a case that an excellent product has stimulated a great demand causing a temporary drought in the distribution channels? (Is that a fair question?) Thanks, Welles

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 22, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 22, 2009 Currently these parts are in high demand and the supply has been short, in other words we cant keep them in stock ATM. But I would expect them to be in and out of stock on a daily basis because of the increased demand. So please keep checking I would use http://www.pricegrabber.com to check the list of resellers and go from there.
Welles
Thank you, RAM Guy. I purchased one from Tiger Direct just moments ago.

angelicvoices
Already out of stock again.. I was about to ask the same question. The only place I can find it is Amazon and they're more expensive than they should be. I believe they are actually ABOVE the MSRP :\
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 24, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 24, 2009 They are showing at Newegg I just searched http://www.pricegrabber.com.
angelicvoices
Yes but they are out of stock: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233085 I already e-mailed Newegg but so far they have not responded as to when they expect more in. Unfortunately on quite a time crunch because my primary drive is dying right now. I have a couple of regular Samsung SATAs on the way, but they were intended for backup and I really hope I can get this Corsair for my primary. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 24, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 24, 2009 I am sorry about that I would suggest maybe calling them, they will know when more are expected and can maybe hold one for you.
angelicvoices
Newegg got back with me. They have no ETA, and I'm not sure what that means. It's been that way with every site I've inquired. They have no idea when they'll be getting more. It's kind of odd. Anyway, thanks for trying to help. I can't do anything until Monday at this point anyway. Hopefully by then I'll have more options, or Amazon will come on down to the MSRP at least.
angelicvoices
Is this company legit? http://www.digitalstormonline.com/product.asp?id=143145 They have really good ratings: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Digital_Storm But I've never heard of them. Every company that I've inquired with so far has either said they have no idea when they'll be getting more, it's a special order only and they don't keep them in stock, or they're not carrying them anymore. How long do "special orders" normally take? I assume it depends on Corsair's speed in shipping them out the drive.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 27, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 27, 2009 I have heard of them and I do not have any thing that I remember bad about them is about all I can say. Just look at their return Policy and any reviews about their service to decide.
angelicvoices
I ended up ordering from them.. or trying to at least. I placed an order on Saturday, including paying for rush overnight shipping. I also asked on the website about the turn around time, explaining my situation. I received a prompt message from a staff member saying that if it was in stock and my order was finished processing on Monday I would get it on Tuesday. Just now I received an e-mail saying my order had been canceled because it was not actually in stock, despite their website explicitly saying it was. In fact their website STILL says it is. So, I guess there is no place to buy this drive. That is too bad. I hope that Corsair is able to distribute more in the future as I know it is a great drive. angelicvoices
No.. they're still out of stock.. see the grey "Auto-Notify" button? that means they're out of stock. Newegg still says no ETA. In fact, every company I have found google says either they don't carry them anymore or there is no ETA. I dunno what is up.
