oneball77
Well I came home from work today and powered up my computer. It turned on but all the lights(fans, power, hdd, motherboard, and video card) were pulsing very fast and the computer would not start. So I disconnected the video card, odd and hdd and tried restarting, same problem. So I took a power supply from another computer and no more pulsing. I purchased the power supply from newegg 6/16/09. Where do I send it?

bukem
My HX1000W just died on me today in the exact way as yours. When I am trying to power on my rig, all LED's on motherboard are pulsating very rapidly but there is no POST. Additionally my LCD poster (I have Asus Rampage II Extreme motherboard) cycles between WELCOME and POWER-OFF messages. I guess I need to RMA but I am waiting for your call Mr RAM GUY. Edit: I have submitted case through Tech Support Express.

bukem
My case number is #1048623 but don't bother as I got reply from tech support and mailed the power supply to Corsair in Netherlands already. Anyway, thanks for prompt and fast answer RAM GUY!

oneball77
Ok so I got my RMA # today and for s&g's I hooked my hx1000 back up for one last test. This time it powered on no problem. So, I got my dmm and tested voltage my 12v is steady 12.14 and my 5v is steady 5.12. When it was malfunctioning the 12v fluctuated from 11.7 to 12.5 and the 5v from 4.6 to 5.5. Now I still think I should send it in because this behavior is not normal but is there going to be a problem now that it is functioning properly? The computer is not used alot I built it a little over a month ago and it only has 64 hours on it. What could cause this problem?
bukem
Don't want to guess, but maybe it is a cold solder joint somewhere on the power supply PCB? Anyways in my case I tested my faulty HX1000W in other computer with the same result - no post.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 23, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 23, 2009 Please send it in for replacement. The 5v is out of spec, should be within 5%.
bukem
Just wanted to thank you RAM GUY and everyone at Corsair for handling my RMA request. On 21 July I reported the faulty power supply, on 22 got RMA number and sent it to Tech Support in Netherlands - and today I got brand new HX1000W back! 6 days (including weekend) - don't tell me that it was not quick enough... :D:
