Xcool
I have just assembled a new desktop. After installing WINDOW VISTA it was unstable and kept crashing. My friend and I tried only use one piece of the RAM (rather than originally two) and managed to install SP1 and hoped that it would solve the problem. But the problem was still there with dual channel. I have read a few posts in this forum and found few users also having similar problem, particularly with this MB. I tried to use those suggestion and adjusted the BIOS setting, such as latency setting, DRAM volt to 2.1V and otherone to 1.3 V. I can now start up WINDOW and open up web browsers but it crashes again when I try to install some games. Can someone help me on this? It would be much appreciated. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 17, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 17, 2009 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and load setup defaults and then set the memory Voltage to 2.0 Volts then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not failing. If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
